We are thrilled to share the incredible strides we made together in June 2025. From celebrating over 100 empowered graduates to launching impactful new initiatives and strengthening our team, every milestone reflects your unwavering support and our shared commitment to transforming lives across Liberia.
A defining moment this month was the graduation of 114 learners from our USAID Youth Advance Future-Proof Skills (FPS) program. The graduation, which took place on June 27 at Starz University drew families, trainers, government leaders, and partners to honor the journey of these remarkable young people.
Originally funded by USAID and implemented in partnership with EDC and local youth-serving organizations, the program equipped participants with digital, soft, and work-readiness skills. The results speak for themselves: nearly 90% of graduates secured jobs or apprenticeships, and 89% of employers praised their readiness and resilience. FREE's commitment to empowering youth remains unwavering—even in the face of challenges.

Fueled by the success of Phase One, we officially launched the next cycle of the Future-Proof Skills training. This new phase integrates digital marketing and entrepreneurship to further align with market needs, building on the USAID Youth Advance curriculum. Classes begin in August, and recruitment is currently ongoing.
In collaboration with AFLA Liberia and our U.S.-based partners, we launched a six-week Trauma Relief Training of Trainers (ToT) on June 17. Twenty-five participants—from the education, health, and faith sectors—are undergoing intensive, culturally relevant training in trauma healing, emotional resilience, and psychosocial support.
This is more than a training—it’s a movement. Our vision is a peaceful, emotionally resilient Liberia. This initiative builds on trauma interventions that reached over 150 people in 2023 and 2024, with demand growing nationwide. Participants are now equipped to return to their communities as agents of healing and hope.
We deeply appreciate the leadership of Amb. George F. Blamoh, FREE’s Vice Board Chair and an Ambassador at the United Nations, along with our distinguished facilitators Holly Love, Roy Reed, and Roberta Reed, whose expertise and passion continue to shape lives.

In June, we initiated an internal restructuring aimed at enhancing coordination, streamlining roles, and aligning team functions with strategic goals. This realignment ensures that we operate more efficiently, collaborate effectively, and are better positioned to scale our programs and serve Liberia’s youth with excellence. A new policy on interns and volunteers was also launched in June as part of our commitment to continuous improvement.
We were honored to host Rick Mooren Jonathan from the Netherlands for a two-week internship at FREE. During his time, Rick supported partnership activities and explored Liberia’s vibrant community development efforts. A passionate advocate for sports ministry, he also engaged with the United Brothers Football Academy in Caldwell, bringing an international flavor to our youth-focused initiatives.
Our School of Value and Success (SVS) Circle 4 cohort has completed mentorship and training. Graduation preparations are underway, and participants will soon receive professional certificates recognizing their personal growth and achievements. Stay tuned for their inspiring stories and reflections!
