The year 2025 stretched us, challenged us, and strengthened us in ways we will never forget. Despite the early shock of project closures, Foundation for Research, Education & Empowerment (FREE) Liberia remained unwavering—driven by creativity, innovation, teamwork, and an unshakeable commitment to our mission. Through every challenge, the team held the vision high, and today we joyfully celebrate another successful year of service and transformation.
This year, FREE Liberia made significant national and international impact. We completed two major research studies—one on barriers affecting girls’ and women’s access to education, shared at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA in March 2025, and another on education financing for Education International Africa Office in collaboration with the National Teachers Association of Liberia. Our trauma relief program expanded with the training of 25 facilitators by U.S. partners, followed by cluster trainings that reached more than 350 beneficiaries across Montserrado and Margibi counties, delivered in partnership with the Liberian Institute for “Growing” Patriotism, the Angie Brooks International Centre, and Cuttington University.
Our work with youth and communities remained strong, from girls’ empowerment programs to the release of a mindset-transforming book. We proudly celebrated the graduation of 114 young people under USAID Youth Advance – Future Proof Skills, and we continued to strengthen professional development for Liberians through our flagship School of Value & Success.
In appreciation of the extraordinary commitment of our staff, FREE Liberia honored its outstanding performers and presented gifts to members of the team.
Diamond Dorcas Mawiah, Finance & Operations Coordinator, was celebrated for her selfless and dedicated service. Her integrity, diligence, and consistent effort to go above and beyond have strengthened FREE Liberia’s work, especially the School of Value & Success in 2025 and beyond. Her contribution continues to inspire our entire family.
As we prepare to embrace 2026, we do so with hope, renewed energy, and deep gratitude to God Almighty for His grace and unfailing guidance throughout this year.
